A comparison with legal penalties for drivers in countries other than the UK

An analysis of the legal situation in other countries in an attempt to determine what effect the various laws have on the behaviour of drivers towards vulnerable road users. For example, the position in Denmark is that drivers are automatically assumed to be at fault if a collision with a bicycle occurs. Does this mean that drivers in Denmark are more careful? Is there any evidence of any such trend in the accident statistics?
