Examples

These are simply outline prices based on the rates below, but each website is different so please contact me to obtain a more accurate estimate for your project.

• A basic static website comprising between 5 and 10 pages and complete with domain name, graphic design and image editing is likely to cost approximately £500, and have an annual running cost of £110.

• A website with an unlimited number of pages and image galleries, and a content management system providing you with the ability to build, modify and update the content yourself, complete with domain name, graphic design and image editing is likely to cost upwards of £1,000, and have an annual running cost of at least £140.

• A more complex website, as above but with the addition of custom scripting, extensive graphic design and photography, an automatic translation service or an e-commerce online shop is likely to cost £2,000 or more, and have an annual running cost of at least £140, plus the cost of a merchant package for e-commerce systems and translation (see below) for bilingual systems.

 

Prices

Web design is charged at a nominal £250 per day, or £35 per hour for smaller jobs, but a 20% discount is offered for charities and voluntary organisations. This discount can often be used as match-funding, or shown as a donation or as the contribution of volunteer time in grant applications if you are applying for funding to pay for your new website.

Professional translation from English to Welsh is available at £60 per 1,000 words. This can be undertaken both at the design phase of the project and as an ongoing commitment in conjunction with the automatic translation service.

UK domain names (.org.uk and .co.uk) cost £10 to register and require renewal at the same price bi-annually.

International domain names (.net, .org and .com) cost £10 to register and require renewal annually.

Web hosting costs £100 per year, a price which includes unlimited web space and bandwidth for data transfer, an unlimited number of email addresses or forwarders, and Linux (.PHP) or Windows (.ASP) scripting. Websites which include the Syml content management system require a MySQL database which costs an additional £30 per year.
